It was found that the different sensors provided complimentary lithological and structural information for the sedimentary rocks in central Australia. Differences between clastic and carbonate rocks are clearly defined, but subtle variations between different carbonate lithologies are not detected on the imagery. TIMS data is found to be highly band-intercorrelated, but suitable processing enables emissivity information to be extracted from the data. At least two bands are needed in this region to separate diagnostic spectral features at 2.2 and 2.3 $\mu$m.

The 2.0-2.5 $\mu$m wavelength region contains important lithological spectral features that cannot be discerned with the Thematic Mapper Simulator scanner. Qatar CAA EMIRATES AVIATION ASSOCIATION H. It is however possible to obtain quantitative information on both the distribution and composition of sedimentary rocks in the area by using distinctive vegetation canopies as a surrogate for mineralogy. Spectra derived from NS001 imagery show diagnostic differences between clastic and carbonate rocks, but comparison to corresponding laboratory spectra indicate that lithological signatures from the NS001 scanner operating in the visible to near-infrared wavelength regions are strongly influenced by vegetation cover. SIR-B radar was observed to penetrate dry vegetation in the Amadeus Basin, but would not penetrate sand cover. Multiple-incidence SIR-B imagery from south-eastern Australia indicates the potential for geological mapping based on surface roughness variations. VOR Tracker is a beautifully designed instrument procedure trainer for pilots. Microwave imagery is sensitive to slope and surface roughness variations. VOR Navigation Simulator and IFR Procedure Trainer. Besides that, most components in the trainer will be fully functional aircraft components. The Navigation and Communication Trainer is a basic functional simulation of a standard aircraft avionics system. Coincident multisensor data from the Shuttle Imaging Radar-B (SIR-B) Landsat MSS, NASA Thematic Mapper Simulator (NS001) and Thermal Infrared Multispectral Scanner (TIMS) aircraft scanner imagery, and airphotos were acquired for a site in the Amadeus Basin, Central Australia. KandH AT-11003 Navigation & Communication Trainer. The thesis evaluates the potential of multiple-sensor imagery operating at different wavelength regions in the electromagnetic spectrum for geoscientific studies in the arid regions of Australia.
